Veritons Song Contest was an online contest which took place between 2012 and 2017. A large number of countries around the world were represented in this contest and an incredible diversity in music was shown. You can still check the songs that took part in the 103 editions by accessing the Database.
From 27 songs, we had chosen 15 for the semi-final and 7 for the final. The jury was composed in the Preliminary round of 4 members V. Tanase (ROU) : A. Potemkin(RUS) A.I.Petrov(RUS), E.Razdoviskychiute(LIT) And in the semi-final by 6 members: V. Tanase (ROU) : A. Potemkin(RUS), M. Jazairy (IRN), R.Constantin(ROU), O. Mitekina(RUS) and our newest jury member E. Pismenska (UKR)
In this final we have a B jury composed by 5 members. They will have to give grades from 0.25 too 10.00 for every entry based by the quality of music and interpretation, the used system of ranking is free (is recommended to have some different marks for components and the grade given to be the average, but is not compulsory). The competition is posted on VSC forum too, also it is archived .
The Head of the Jury(Jury A) will give 4 marks to every song based on : Music Quality, Vocal Skills and Interpretation, Originality and Composition, Overall Impression.(The first 3 must be judged in a objective manner and the 4th should be a mix between choreograph, ideas, lyrics quality , performance and a (personal) subjective way. Each song will have then an average . It will be impractical to write all of my components grades because the Table system is tricky, so I will show you only the avarage: Ex: Song x(in order MQ,Voc/In,O/C,OV) 7.50, 8.00, 7.60, 7.80. The average will be : 7.725. For Jury A: the average will be multiplied by 5: ex : 7.725x5=38.625 points
The ratio for every jury will be 50%: Jury A 50%, Jury B 50%. For Jury B we have 5 members so all 5 grades will be summed: ex: 10+10+10+9.5+10=49.50 points
The final score would be: A+B : 49.50+38.625= 88.125 points. The song with the most points will be declared the winner of VSCR7/8, and will be proposed for 7th/8th edition of VSC. Now, we will start our national contest with the selection of 8th edition song .
