Sergey Vyacheslavovich Lazarev is a Russian singer, dancer and actor. He is most famous for his singing career, when he rose to fame as the dark-haired member of the group Smash!!. The group broke up in 2006. Since then Lazarev has pursued a solo career. He debuted in VSC81 with the song "Stumblin'" recveiving 79 points, enough to get the 9th place.
His Eurovision entry is one of the current years' favourites. It was written by Philipp Kirkorov, Dimitris Kontopoulos, John Ballard and Ralph Charlie. Would VSC predict a possible winner again? Last year, Måns Zelmerlöw won in a similar way, with few weeks before the Eurovision shows.

This edition's runner-up is the young spanish-german artist Álvaro Soler with his new released hit "Sofia". After representing Germany with "El mismo sol", who received 8th place in VSC, he returned this edition to take the second position and 168 points.

Top 3 was completed by France, with yet another new juror - Denisa. Maître Gims and Sia returned to the contest with an extraordinary collaboration. "Je te pardonne" scored 144 points.

Russia welcomes us to the city of Ozersk next edition, the so-called 'Diamond of Eurasia'. See you there!
