This crowded city did not scare little Moldova, who not only returned with a new (and at the same time former) juror and conquered the stage with "Falling Stars", performed by Lidia Isac. Lidia tried to represent Moldova in Eurovision 2015, but her song "I can’t breathe" did not receive too many points (not that the NF was too fair anyway). This year, Lidia sent "Falling Stars" to both Selectia Nationala in Moldova and Veritons Song Contest.
According to zumi.md, Lidia's song has the same composers as "A Million Voices", the Russia 2015 entry in Eurovision.
Little was the surprise when Moldova won VSC 80. The favourites were Romania, Slovenia, France and Sweden, but in the end this little country ran with the prize, scoring 129 points, with only 3 more than the runner-up, Romania. Top 3 was completed by Sweden, with 112 points.
Next edition we'll be celebrating Christmas in little cozy Chisinau with a looooot of wine. Yes, we didn't had enough wine in Cahul 47 where even the theme was about wine. In Moldova you can never have enough wine (or whine) !
